History

PetroStrat Ltd. formed during 2001 when Paul Cornick and Dave Rutledge joined forces to set up a new biostratigraphic consultancy. The Company acquired office premises in Tyldesley House, Llandudno during 2002.

PetroStrat expanded significantly during 2005, with the addition of 2 more Directors (John Gregory and Mark Weldon), several very experienced Senior Stratigraphers and support staff. The company continued to grow during 2006-2009 and now comprises one of the largest biostratigraphic consultancies, with 24 biostratigraphers, 13 Laboratory Staff, and 3 Administrative Support staff. In 2007, PetroStrat moved to purpose-built premises in Conwy, North Wales. These include an on-site sample processing Laboratory which enables our stratigraphers to monitor sample preparation closely and also facilitates rapid-turnaround/’hot-shot’ analyses. Additionally, PetroStrat also offers a Thin Sectioning service in the second of its laboratories.

Our regular clientele includes quality conscious major oil companies and we have continued to develop strong working relationships with a number of other major international oil and gas companies in recent years.
