PetroStrat currently has vacancies for the following positions:-

Biostratigraphers (Ref: PS-07/04, placed November, 2007)
PetroStrat has potential career openings for biostratigraphers of all disciplines (micropalaeontologists, nannopalaeontologists and palynologists) within our expanding team. At present we are especially interested to hear from experienced nannopalaeontologists. We can offer varied and interesting career opportunities; we are currently active in many overseas areas in addition to the North Sea . Applicants should preferably be willing to conduct occasional wellsite work on offshore drilling installations; full training for offshore work (including an offshore safety training course) can be provided. It is anticipated that these posts will involve a healthy mix of office-based analytical work and wellsite work.

Salary negotiable, depending on experience. Benefits include non-contributory pension and significant bonuses for rig work.

Laboratory Technician (Ref: PS-07/05, placed November, 2007)
This post will provide a varied role within the company and involve onsite and offsite laboratory processing work as well as technical support for our palaeontologists. The laboratory work involves processing rock samples to supply our scientists with high quality palaeontology preparations. Part of the work requires careful handling of hazardous chemicals. Previous laboratory experience would be advantageous, however, training will be provided. The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate accuracy, computer literacy, team work and a willingness to travel. They will be required to occassionally work on oil rigs, and will be expected to attend and pass an offshore safety training course and medical within the first 2-3 months as a condition of employment.
