PetroStrat provides wellsite services in all three biostratigraphic disciplines (micropalaeontology, nannopalaeontology & palynology) and the majority of our biostratigraphers are fully certificated to work offshore. We are also able to offer a wellsite-going Thin Section service.
Wellsite biostratigraphic services are usually targeted at -
- Picking casing points
- Picking coring points
- Monitoring the stratigraphy in structurally complex geological settings
- Monitoring the stratigraphy of “wildcat” wells
- Assisting to “geo-steer” long reach horizontal wells
- Determining a well TD
Additionally, our presence at wellsite enables top-hole/overburden stratigraphy to be accurately interpreted and enables identification of the provenance of cavings where borehole instability problems arise.
