Nick Miles, our in-house Palaeozoic expert, probably has unrivalled experience in the Palaeozoic palynostratigraphy of Algeria, including the Saharan Platform (Cambrian and Ordovician), the Ghadames/Berkine Basin (Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous, Triassic and Jurassic), the South Atlas Region (Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Triassic and Jurassic) and the Illizi Basin (Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Jurassic and Cretaceous). Other staff have significant experience of the Tertiary-Cretaceous offshore basins.
Our stratigraphers have a wealth of experience in Libya, having during the course of their industrial careers analysed some 200 Libyan wells with sections ranging in age from Cambrian to Neogene. We have extensive experience in the Cretaceous and Tertiary stratigraphy of the Sirt Basin, Tripolitania and offshore Benghazi. In addition, our stratigraphers have substantial experience in the palynostratigraphy of the Nubian Sandstone and the Palaeozoic successions of the Ghadames and Murzuq Basins, including the Ordovician Hawaz, Melez Shuqran and Mamuniyat Formations and the Silurian of the northern Ghadames (Acacus Formation). We have experience of wellsite biomonitoring offshore Benghazi on an H2S prone wildcat (a 9 week offshore assignment).
PetroStrat has provided wellsite services and conducted detailed post-well analyses (micropalaeontology & nannopalaeontology) on several deepwater exploration wells offshore Morocco and Miocene to Jurassic onshore wells in the Fez region. In addition, our stratigraphers have experience in the Mesozoic palynology of the Anti-Atlas Region. Recently, we have carried out a number of regional reviews of legacy biostratigraphic data (multiple wells of differing vintages) and conducted infill analysis of a number of wells to help re-interpret the original data.
PetroStrat has provided wellsite services during exploration and appraisal drilling in Morocco (both on- and offshore), Libya and Egypt.
Our staff also have experience of biostratigraphic analysis in Malta (all Tertiary sections; analysed for micropalaeontology and nannopalaeontology), as well as regional review work of some vintage wells offshore Malta and Gozo. Several staff have worked on Tertiary-Triassic sections in Italy and Greece, as well as Tertiary-Cretaceous sections from Turkey.
