Introduction
A new 31-well expansion to PetroStrat’s correlative biostratigraphic framework of >1,000 wells, across offshore Norway and the UK. This release includes the important discoveries of Osprey (6507/3-12), Cape Vulture (6608/10-17S), Carmen (6507/8-9), Pil (6406/12-3S), Njord North Flank (6407/7-9A & S) and Bauge (6407/8-6). Selected dry or uncommercial wells are also incorporated, where thorough biostratigraphic sampling/recovery is noted, and deeper Permian targets were penetrated.
Biostratigraphically derived sequences are newly assigned from first returns to TD across every study well based on re-review by PetroStrat micropalaeontologists, palynologists & nannopalaeontologists of released legacy technical reports, charts and .dex files, stripping back prior interpretations by various analysts across decades of exploration drilling to the raw biomarkers recorded. New interpretations are consistent with our current understanding on the evolution of depositional systems continually enhanced through proprietary analytical studies. Ichron sequences are retained in this release, and are calibrated with Norwegian Sea lithostratigraphic nomenclature, incorporating NPD and Norlex lithostratigraphic terminology.
