Key points
- 109 well study database, information principally derived from Ichron-generated proprietary studies, with permissions from GDF Suez, E.ON Ruhrgas, Endeavour Energy, Serica Energy, EOG Resources, Talisman Energy, Maersk Oil, Shell UK & Apache
- Supplementary new quantitative analyses of 250 BGS samples, mostly palynology from 28 wells
- Biostratigraphic zonation defines ‘F Units’, which are correlatable between fields
Stratigraphic resolution of the Forties Sandstone Member based on biostratigraphic marker events has now achieved a consistency and resolution which enables reservoir-scale subdivision to be recognised across all areas of the Forties fairway. The Forties Sandstone Stratigraphic Database presents a 109 well dataset that has been subjected to biostratigraphic review together with an extensive program of re-sampling and analysis. This data has been utilised to establish a robust and reliable stratigraphic framework within which the individual sandstone layers are identified and correlated. Distribution maps have been generated for specific reservoir layers which demonstrate the changing loci of deposition during this period of sandstone deposition.
Deliverables
- Stratigraphic framework and zonation scheme.
- Local lithostratigraphic scheme applied to all wells.
- Stratigraphic summary chart for each of the 109 wells including age, lithostratigraphy, sample data points and biostratigraphical marker events, all set against the wireline/MWD logs.
- Correlation panels highlighting regional thickness trends, stratigraphic breaks and hiatal surfaces within the context of the field areas.
- Tabulated stratigraphic sequence depths for each individual well.
- ODM deliverable.
- Digital data export of stratigraphic sequences and lithostratigraphic boundaries.
